ABOUT US

The Rotary Club ofNairobi Madaraka

The Rotary Club of Nairobi Madaraka was officially established on June 1, 2012, coinciding with Kenya's Madaraka Day. The term "Madaraka" symbolizes self-rule and the initiative to take control of our own destiny. Our club comprises 45 members, primarily ex-Rotaractors, with an average age of 38. This youthful demographic sets us apart as one of Africa's youngest Rotary clubs. We are a dynamic, passionate group dedicated to revitalizing the spirit of Rotary.

FEATURE PROJECT

Providing Clean and Safe Water to Residents of Kyangala, Machakos County

The Mithu Self Help Group, located in Kyangala, Machakos County, has been instrumental in providing essential water services to the local community, schools, and markets. With the support of Hon. Gerald S. Muia, the group established a borehole that has been pivotal in addressing water needs in the region. However, the growing population and the impact of climate change, leading to erratic rainfall and frequent droughts, have put immense pressure on the existing infrastructure.
